Province teams up with Athabasca County to enhance emergency response and improve driver safety on Highway 63.

Municipal Affairs Minister Hector Goudreau joins Culture and Community Spirit Minister Lindsay Blackett, Mr. Jeff Johnson, MLA Athabasca-Redwater, Mr. Manmeet Singh Bhullar, Parliamentary Assistant Municipal Affairs and local municipal officials to present a cheque from the Government of Alberta.  The Province and Athabasca County are jointly investing $1.3 million.

The funding will allow Athabasca County to hire up to four emergency responders and purchase portable speed indicator devices.  Funding will also help develop a regional strategy with Athabasca County, Lac La Biche County and the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.  Read more.
