  1. 2012 Capital Region Disaster Recovery Program

    This program is now closed for new applications except for residents of the Town of Morinville.

    The Alberta government has approved this disaster recovery program to help residents, communities, small businesses and farms recover from severe weather this summer.

    The Alberta Emergency Management Agency received requests for assistance with damages incurred by several municipalities within the Capital Region as a result of a series of severe thunderstorms moving across the region, on a daily basis, during the July 14 to 18, 2012 period.  To date, the municipalities requesting assistance include the City of Edmonton, the City of Spruce Grove, Town of Beaumont and the Town of Devon.

    Disaster recovery programs provide financial assistance for communities, residents, small businesses and agricultural producers to repair uninsurable property damage and loss. It covers the costs of returning property to the functional condition it was in before a disaster happened.

  2. 2012 City of Edmonton Disaster Recovery Program

    This program is now closed for new applications.

    The Alberta government has approved this disaster recovery program to help residents, communities, small businesses and farms recover from severe weather this summer.

    In the early hours of July 12, 2012 a severe thunderstorm moved from west to east across central Alberta, including the City of Edmonton. As the storm moved across the City of Edmonton it intensified and over 2-3 hours it gave rise to high levels of rainfall and localized flooding to areas along its path.

    Disaster recovery programs provide financial assistance for communities, residents, small businesses and agricultural producers to repair uninsurable property damage and loss. It covers the costs of returning property to the functional condition it was in before a disaster happened.
